Robson Laidler were already the accountants for the large arts studio complex I am part of, so when my own accountant unexpectedly became unavailable, I arranged an initial meeting with them. As a very small business owner, I knew I had a great deal to learn, particularly around using Xero. Until then, I had never reconciled accounts myself and had only provided explanations for expenditure and issued invoices. From the outset, I needed an accounting team who were approachable, kind, and patient, and who understood that I would have many questions. I was reassured by the manager at the time that my queries would be answered throughout the year so that my accounts would be kept in good order. I was especially grateful when Sophie Miller was assigned to support me. Over the past two years, her guidance has helped me gain confidence and significantly improve my bookkeeping. As a result, my accounting processes are now well prepared for the upcoming digital tax changes.
